This book is almost really great. The romance was sweet and the leads charming. I think it needed more time with the leads in the present. Their connection didn't seem as strong as it needed to for the story to have an impact. The book could have been longer in general to really cement the romance. I thought too much felt surface and I wanted more depth. But it was a very enjoyable read all-in-all.

I really enjoyed this as a story, while it wasn’t a light-hearted book, it was in some other ways! It only took so long to finish because I had to return it to the library!
