Loved it. I love how she talks about the trail and then finds a way to connect it to the life she had before she started walking. Imagine walking over 1100 miles in the woods. I could not do that.

Good read. Lol. We are never the same when our mothers die. It changes us in ways that we don’t expect and could never prepare for. She writes honestly. I thought the ending lacked the emotion that the rest of the book had. Definitely better than the movie!

I really enjoyed this book. I laughed, cried, and swung between wanting to go on a backpacking trip and not wanting to. I couldn't put it down.

There were nights I stayed up until my eyes couldn't stay open so I could finish this book. While my experiences are not like Cheryl's there are some I can relate to and if I had read about the PCT at certain points of my life I may have been done the hike as well. I did a marathon once because of a tumultuous experience I felt I needed to get over.

Cheryl has become one of my fav authors over the last few months, I recently read [b:Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar|13152194|Tiny Beautiful Things Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar|Cheryl Strayed|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1339807006s/13152194.jpg|18330294]. She really knows how to pull you into a story and really get your attention. As she hikes the PCT Cheryl talks about her hiking boots and all the physical ailments and then in another moment there is a very poetic moment about a fox or spider webs.

A few months back I read [b:A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail|9791|A Walk in the Woods Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail|Bill Bryson|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1320519729s/9791.jpg|613469] about another Trail written by a man. I really enjoyed reading about Cheryl's solo experience on the trail. The situations and perceptions held mostly by men. I have never hiked the AT or PCT but I do travel overseas solo and have heard many of the same things uttered by men when I've told them I am travel solo.

The book is very cathartic and you feel as if You lived it right along with Cheryl.

Good read. Not always a fan of non-fiction/“biographies” but this was worth the genre jump for me. Have an open mind reading this if the great outdoors isn’t your thing.

What a beautiful book. It was honest, emotional, brutal, hopeful, inspiring, and just so, so wonderful. Cheryl has lived quite the life and is a very talented writer. I’m glad to be one of the many recipients of that talent through the reading of this book. I hope we can all learn to be that radically honest and accepting of ourselves and our choices. I’m glad to know too that she eventually got her happy ending.
