Illustrator and author Carson Ellis shares both realistic and imaginative homes. And as the illustrator/author, she has the power to add herself to her book. Such a clever idea for future writers if teachers wanted to use a picture book during a writing unit.

The art makes the entire book, as is the case for most children's books. The illustrations are beautiful.

Great way to build vocabulary in younger readers and give them some additional background knowledge without being overwhelming. I love the concept too, that people can live in all kinds of different homes.
