A real, raw look into Viola’s life. I can imagine how hard it must've been to be that vulnerable in the book. She talks about her SA, her feeling unloved, not good enough, and mistakes that shaped her into who she is. I have a lot of respect for her.

I love Viola Davis...I found this challenging to finish because it made me sad BUT I hope to finish it later. Her life is filled with hardship and tragedy which I find hard to want to read in nonfiction.

I cried, I cried, I cried. My soul needed to read this. 8 year old me needed to read this, too.

If you like Viola Davis, pick this one up! I enjoyed the audiobook that she personally narrated. It’s interesting to hear all she went through!

Wow. Just wow... I'm not going to lie, I haven't seen Viola Davis in anything other than How to Get Away with Murder and The Help. She is a phenomenal actress. When she was talking about her rat-infested apartment, the abuse she and her mother went through, I was just heartbroken. It is so astonishing that she pulled her way out of that and went on to win EGOT. Even more than that, she healed internally. I cried at the end, and it's uncommon for a book to make me cry. Just an amazing woman, wish her all the best in life.
