I appreciate that this book really worked to make Lincoln just a man. They showcased his depression, how his views weren’t perfect, how he was no saint. This is probably the first book I would give someone to introduce them to this series.

Nice short read. I still highly recommend these for kids interested in history or historical figures.

We always enjoy these condensed biographies with our homeschool studies. They aren’t always the most inclusive regarding details, but they provide a good starting point for 4-6th graders. They are packed with interesting information and written in a way that keeps my kids’ attention. The images throughout are black and white sketches.

What better way to spend the 4th than read about one of our greatest presidents.

How lucky we were to have Abraham Lincoln as a President in our American History. Good info in this book.

My son and I have been loving this series. It was also a good one to follow-up our Harriet Tubman book and big bad ironclad so we’ve read a lot about the civil war and the time leading up to it. He is 7 and finds the books very engaging. He’s already starting on his second time through this one.
