DNF at 66%. I just couldn’t put myself through the torture anymore.

It started off not so bad but the writing style and the spoon feeding version of worldbuilding ruined this book.

I get that the first in the series is supposed to lay the groundwork for the rest but the main characters got completely lost in the shuffle of bouncing around introducing characters and giving basically their entire backstory.

I feel no urge to read the rest of the series because I was already given the full story in this book.

I felt like the characters were too immature for a professional work setting and I had a hard time getting into the story.

I listened to this in audio form and thought the narrators captured the characters and spirit of the book well. By the end of the story I was wanting to read #2 in the series. I thought the story flowed well and I enjoyed the plot. This helped me get my to do list done without complaint. I'm happy to have discovered this new author. A clean romcom with no language, fade out intimacy, or innuendo. I liked the transition from enemies to like to something more.

When workplace rivals, Charlotte and Callum, are working together on an important project for their company, verbal jabs fly. They could not be more different. As they spend time together outside of work, their attraction grows, and they begin dating. Major project deadlines get switched, and Callum blames Charlotte. Will their relationship make it?

This is the first book I have read by Annah, and I love it so much. The banter between Charlotte and Callum is the best. I also love that Annah included depth in the story and characters and did not shy away from adding in hard topics. I highly recommend this book, and I cannot wait to read more by this author!

*This is a closed-door Christian contemporary romance book.

I’m a sucker for a well written enemies to more and this story definitely delivered! I loved the constant battle Charlotte and Callum were in and how they were so oblivious to their feelings. The had the best banter! The back and forth between wanting to dislike each other and wanting to kiss each other was perfection! They were so fiesty, especially Charlotte! Charlotte was such a fun, bubbly character and her character had some great depth. She was so relatable and I saw so much of myself in her. I laughed so much at all the funny situations she got herself into. Callum was such a great grump with a heart of gold. What a perfect enemies to more first kiss *chefs kiss*!! And their internal struggles and personal growth added such a great layer to the story. And we can’t have a romcom without some great side characters!! I loved the friendships between the girls, they were all so different but complimented each other so well. And I love how Brad would tease Callum 😂! Conwell set up for the next story so well and I can wait to read all the girl’s stories.
