I enjoyed less than a quarter of these stories. Instead, I'd recommend Ducornet's The Complete Butcher's Tales, which had a much better ratio of star studs to duds.
The illustrations by Motely are quite unique, phenomenal even, although a bit inscrutable at times. I'd say they were the highlight of the whole book.
