This is PURE 90s comic and it is such a great time. Growing up I ploughed through the sequel series to this, but never read the first six issues. There is A LOT in here, with many smaller sequences having much larger implications in future series.
The writing is VERY 90s hahaha, but I had a such a fun time reading it.

While some aspects of this comic lean into campy and goofy territory I can’t deny that I enjoy Eddie’s character development in it. While I found the underground city aspect of the story goofy at first and was worried on how it would affect the story as a whole, I was relieved to find it doesn’t overshadow the main point of the story, which is to show how Eddie is slowly learning to be a hero. Definitely worth the read.

This book is a good representation of what comic books should strive for - zany plot lines that don't get derailed by their own absurdness centered around a moral core. This book keeps cliches to a minimum and really manages to tell a fresh Venom story.

This story was really dope. The action in this is great, the artwork was great, and I love the scope. I am very curious what elements will be used in Sony's Venom film. There is plenty to pick from as this comic arc has many strong points. After putting this down I decided to pick up the Carnage graphic novel to fill some story gaps before I read [b: Spider-Man: Maximum Carnage|850492|Spider-Man Maximum Carnage|Tom DeFalco|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1486038434s/850492.jpg|836003], [b: Venom: Separation Anxiety|33555594|Venom Separation Anxiety|Carl Potts|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1523600066s/33555594.jpg|54333097], and [b: Venom: Planet of the Symbiotes|39295528|Venom Planet of the Symbiotes|Marvel Comics|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1523167027s/39295528.jpg|60873680]. I am loving these stories and I am glad I'm reading through them. These are some of the best Spidey comics I've read.
