I loved how this book gave information on sickness and made the readers feel something that really isn’t talked about with sick people. The romance between the two were adorable. The only thing I didn’t like about this book is the ending, there could have been a great ending but instead it felt like the author didn’t know what else to write and ended it super quick without thinking.

I think back to the ya novels I grew up with. This vaguely reminded me of The Fault in Our Stars but a more… modern East Coast take? Kinda of like a specific niche that only a few people could understand? Characters who have chronic illness and just so happen to be Jewish are not combinations you see often in young adult novels. I’m glad this was published because we need our growing population to see that they can exist in novels as much as anyone else. While I do understand this is completely fiction, some of the dialogue between the characters made me feel as if maybe this would have been better if Isabel + company were in college or perhaps early / mid twenties? who calls their significant other honey at 16/17? I also think Isabel and Sasha may have not been emotionally or mentally mature enough to handle a relationship since they had a lot of baggage they were dealing with.

Pleasantly surprised with how insightful it is for YA romance!

I liked it because it discussed things like the shame of having "healthy" friends adjust so they can accommodate you, and this feeling that you overthink and doubt everything that you're just overreacting and paranoid, but also things, why should there be a hierarchy that this person is considered sicker than the other therefore the sicker person has more right to be absent from school when they're not feeling okay? It was... introspective. I'm not sure if Moskowitz actually has some chronic illness, but it's an interesting exploration of an unhealthy person's POV.

A MUST READ!! This book means so much to me. Main characters have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Gaucher’s disease. I have RA, just like the protagonist, and I have not read a book that I can relate to so much. I love how the author truly understood and translated how it feels to have a chronic (and invisible) illness as a young person, and the pain and struggle that no one really sees. I loved the open and honest conversations about the stigmas behind being sick. I think this is such an important read for those with chronic illnesses, like me, to find solace and comfort and relate to the characters. But it is also such an important read for healthy people too, so that they can get a glimpse into what it’s like living with a chronic illness, and how to better interact and have open conversations about illness.
As for the romance, I thought it was very cute. I loved the character growth of Isabel figuring out herself and her own internalized fears and anxieties, and accepting them.
I loved the romance, I loved the message, all around a great book.
