6 stars

I absorbed this book almost in a single sitting. What an amazing series this is, filled with drama, sorrow, loyalty....you name it, it's there. Once again, though, it may require some parental guidance for younger readers, as some of the subject matter is pretty dark and scary.

Things come to a head for Michael and his association with UNICORNE. Once again, the plot is really twisty and complicated, with some rather startling discoveries, and some seriously tense and creepy stuff had me holding my breath (and just so you know, it's been a reaalllly long time since I was a teenager). No clichés here; not everything is resolved as Michael would wish.

Why only 6 stars, then, instead of my usual 8? The ending is just a teensy, teensy bit cheesy.
