If I had the time when I started, I would have read this book in one sitting. I really enjoyed reading the beginning of the series and I love how you can start reading from any book because the books are like a continuation of adventures. I also thought that by having the first two books in one volume was very convenient.

So this is not the first time I've read the first two books of the Morganville Vampires series but this is the first time I'm reading this edition. I really love this series. I love the level of intensity of the suspense, the romance and I REALLY love how much this isn't like Twilight. I mean it's no Dracula but the vampires don't sparkle and the female lead character, Claire, is nothing like Bella, where she acts helpless in front of a vampire and expects someone to save her. Claire puts up a fight against any of the bad guys, even though she knows they can kill her in less than a heartbeat. She also doesn't repeatedly say how "beautiful" her love interest is 50 times in less than 100 pages (once in a while, she does say that he is "hot" and "sexy" but what sane girl wouldn't think that about a guy they like?). I do have to admit that it could have been written a little better but I can easily overlook that.

I first read these books in 8th grade, but recently came across the mini web series- which was don't pretty well all things considered, and kinda fell in love with it again... And now I want more...

Finally a gory vampire story, I was actually scare to what the vampires would do to the characters. Morganville, Texas is a place I wouldn't want to live. The characters are amazing, the two books are amazing, and I wish I could have better words to describe how good this book is, but is just too good. No words can describe it. Rachel Caine is definitely a new favorite author of mine.

I really like this series. This is my second time around and it's just as interesting as the first time I read it.

This book is really entertaining it's got a lot of action and deep character lines with a lot of history for each character.

This Vampire book is not your typical one. The vampires are the bad guys and they run this town!

I can't wait to read the rest of the series. I love the fact that Caine has such deep characters and it helps keep the reader invested in the book. So much happens to them that you feel for them and the struggles they endure as things/situations change. I feel bad for the main character, sometimes, because she gets picked on. She really has a lot of heart though.

Morganville is a terrifying town, with secrets around every single corner. Vampires prey on the week, humans become property, or worse. Trouble seems to follow the crew living in Glass house, or more so, Claire Danvers. Somehow they always seem to come out on top, shocking considering they’re all humans, well almost. It’ll be interesting to see what trouble the team gets into the remainder of the series.

Maybe 3 1/2. A little tooo teenagery at times and hard to buy into the whole premise ... But u enjoyed it even if I wanted to smack the characters upside the head for stupid choices:)
