Absolutely loved this, this book tells the origin of the hulk going straight to the beginning of one of Stan lees most loved hero’s,the hulk. I would recommend this to anyone who want to getting into the hulk and would recommend reading all of the mighty marvel masterworks

This is the first six issues of The Incredible Hulk. It's pretty clear Lee and Kirby didn't know what to do with him at this point. I respect its place in Marvel's formative years but it's not great. I might haul it to half price books next time I go.

The plots have a good deal of clunk in them but it's the sort clunk that I kind of like in these old silver age comics. (Egads! A gap in the plot and a lapse in logic? Don't worry about it; look at this cool space monster!) There's also some cringy jingoism at play here (Russians, they're the new Germans!) that dates the stories in a bad way, but, that all said, Kirby and Ditko are crafting some fantastic pages and the sheer imagination on display here in these old Marvel comics is always delightful.
