I feel like wasting my time trying to finish Lowdown and Lush. There is a lot of double standard and sexism in this book. I usually do not mind that as long as the plot/ writing/ twist is interesting or capture my attention.

Miss Laurence fails to deliver more interesting plot/ story. The characters seems to stuck in one dimensional and the conversation is bland. Jenny is a heroine with no backbone nor self dignity. Her whinning and self pity made me give up.

Holy Mike Owens!

Selena Laurence never disappoints.

I’ve been waiting for Mike’s book since the explosion happened in the hospital room where everything came out for all to know. I could not wait to see what was going on in his head and why he was so angry.

First I have to say that I think this is my favorite Lush Series cover yet. It is gorgeous!

In Lowdown and Lush Mike and Jenny are in Dallas working on her album that Mike is producing for her.

The two of them have chemistry that is beyond crazy, like if you were standing in a same room as these two (granted they are fictional) characters, there would be flames coming off of them.

However Mike isn’t going for her. She is possibly the only woman that has flirted with Mike that he hasn’t slept with. We all know from previous books that Mike is a bit of man whore, but he is keeping himself from her and keeping them to just friends.

Mike had me so mad a few times during the book. I was just sitting there with my mouth open going how could you do/say that???

Jenny is too sweet of a woman for Mike when he is acting like that. That’s who she is though, she’s genuinely a nice person.

At one point I started thinking that Mike was never going to pull his head out of his a$$ (and I won’t tell you if he did).

I loved these characters when I finally swiped over to the last page. I started this book yesterday afternoon and just kept going, going, going, until I was done with it a couple of hours later. That’s one thing I love about Selena’s books, you get so engrossed in them that you don’t notice how time is flying by. (Oops, was I supposed to cook dinner last night?) She’s an amazing author and writes the best romances.

I was so glad that all of my favorite Lush guys and their SOs made an appearance in this book. I really enjoyed the interactions between Joss and Mike. I also loved that we got to meet Mike’s dad, see where he came from, and figure out what makes Mike tick.

<3 <3 <3!

Next up! Collin’s story?

Thank you so much for my copy of Lowdown and Lush! 5 stars from me!

2.5 stars!

As much as I've loved the other books in this series, this one just didn't work for me. I just didn't feel the chemistry between Jenny and Mike. Mike's past was horrific was that was no excuse for acting like a douche for most of the book. I wasn't impressed with Jenny either. The fact that
she wanted to have the perfect married life with 2.0 kids so desperately she went from Mike's bed to the other guy's bed (I forgot his name) in a nanosecond pissed me off.
She was a hypocrite.

An ARC was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
