First, thank you to the author for a chance to read this short e-book for free. I am a fan of fantasy so I enjoyed this very much. The author approaches the story from a different perspective than a lot of fantasy I have read. He starts off with the characters already in the midst of their journey, which means you jump right into the action...and that works well for a short story. Also, he explores how the characters react to being deprived of their basic needs and the ramifications as they move away from the situation and back to "normalcy". I enjoyed reading the author's notes at the end of the story as well. It's always nice to see if the reader's take on the story is in line with what the author intended.
