A beautiful story with gorgeous illustrations, it tells the tale of Violette whose mother and father both work at a circus. Violette loves her life in the Cirque de la Lune but sometimes wishes that her life is "normal" until she meets a painter who teaches her to appreciate and love all the people and things that make her life beautiful and unique. This is a wonderful book for readers of all ages.

Great introduction to the series. The art is so gorgeous! The diverse of ethnicity in the circus yet they came together like a big family just warmed my heart.
