What's a girl to do when an incredibly sexy, gorgeous and irresistible incubus is trapped inside the house you've just bought? Well Anna fights to resist him and spends the next few weeks trying to find a way to free Luc from the spell holding him in place.

Incubus Awakened is a hot, fun and very charming read, one that surprised me with it's hidden depths and strong emotions. Luc was a complex individual, one with a dark past and much to atone for. He was also incredibly suave, handsome and endearing with a tongue that proved to be wicked in more than one way!

Amelia's emotions were all over the place but for me they felt very believable. How could she trust this demon who had the power to seduce her mind, body and soul? Of course she had concerns about whether her feelings were genuine or not. What wasn't in doubt was how much I liked both main characters and, despite actually being pretty slow burn, how hot the chemistry was between them.

In order to survive Luc must feed from sexual energy on a regular basis, but feeding from one person too often can kill them. So Anna embarks on a series of (mis)adventures in her quest to release Luc whilst avoiding falling totally in love with him. Let's just say she is more successful in some area's than others! With a hugely engaging plot, good pace and plentiful twists and turns this book easily held my attention whilst totally entertaining me at the same time.

A remarkable journey into the world of demons. Anna is the female character that purchases a home in her old neighborhood. It is said to be haunted but she is still drawn to the house and buys it. Sure enough there is an incubus that has taken over the house.
This tale takes the reader on a sensual and mystical ride with many interesting characters.
This story was captivating and surreal and thoroughly enjoyable.

This is the second book of the Fated Mae series which honestly could be read as a standalone. This book captivated me from the beginning and that end, oh my then end.

Save My Soul is the story of Anna, a woman who returns to her hometown for her father’s funeral and rediscovers her obsession with an old house. Only after she’s bought it and moved in does anyone clue her in that she’s got a supernatural roommate, Luc, (short for Lucien) an incubus with gorgeous looks and a killer appetite for sex. Luc has been trapped in the house for a long time, and since Anna isn’t interested in leaving, the demon wants her to help him escape by torching the house. And since Anna has been obsessed with the house since childhood, that’s not happening.

Things become more complicated with the arrival of another incubus, Cain. Hoping to protect Anna from Cain, Luc performs blood magic on Anna that has far reaching consequences for both demon and human. More drama is added with the arrival of a witchy best friend and a harem of hookers. And that’s before the book kicks you in the gut with its metaphysical premise about Earth being in one of many temporal dimensions.

There’s so much to like in this story. The characters are challenging and yet it’s still possible to relate to most everyone in the story. The pacing is fast, and the plot unfolds well without making any revelation feel jarring, even the surprise twists. The story builds to a tense conclusion, and then closes with a semisweet epilogue. Even the bit characters offered some nice character development in their tiny subplots, so this is a book that gives a lot for the short size.

Since I enjoyed the book so much, I’m giving Save My Soul 4.5 stars and would recommend it to fans of fantasy, dark fantasy, romance, and urban fantasy. I’m going back to read Claimed and Mated, and I can’t wait for book 3 of this series to hit virtual book shelves soon.

This is the second book in Zoe Winters’s Preternaturals series. I did not read book 1, but I will doing so soon. You can pick up Save My Soul and not be lost at all, it seems this story is independent of the others. If there were any crossovers, I didn’t notice and they did not distract from the plot.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The idea of Luc being an incubus and trapped in the house was so new and different. I really enjoyed it! The storyline sucked me right in and I had to force myself to go to bed and not stay up until all hours of the morning just to finish the book-- I did stay up the next night to finish it, though. :)

Anna is an awesome character! She was strong, snarky, independent - everything I would love to be! She resists the temptations of Luc, even when she knows he wants only her. She sticks to her principles, and even though I was yelling at her just to sleep with him already, it really was admirable. All the characters are well-developed and I found myself getting drawn into their lives and caring about what happened to them. The plot moved quickly, there was action, humor, the discovery of alternate dimensions, magic, and nosy, old, small-town bitties. (Or is it biddies? Hmmm).

At the beginning of the book, I thought the house was simply haunted, and Ms. Winters’s descriptions left me looking over my shoulder nervously. Yes, I got a little creeped out - her ghostly descriptions were so vivid. The rest of the book was well written also. I loved the descriptions of the small-town because I live in one, and I could totally relate. When the old biddies encounter Anna and the prostitutes--hilarious!! (You’ll just have to read to find out).

The twist at the end was a little cheesy for me, but it worked. I don’t know who the next book will feature, but I would love to learn more about Cain - I mean he can’t be ALL bad, right? Haha

Overall, I rate the book 4 out of 5 stars- I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I probably won’t ever re-read it. There was some hot sex that I liked, but nothing too graphic or detailed - heat level probably a 3 out of 5.

My review and an extended sample of the audiobook are posted at Hotlistens.com.

Save My Soul is the second book in this series, but it is really the fourth story. Book one, [b:Blood Lust|8972234|Blood Lust (Preternaturals, #1)|Zoe Winters|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1282364206s/8972234.jpg|13849263], is really three novellas in one book. This book doesn’t tie in with book one nearly as tight as the three novellas tie together. This book can be read as a stand alone. Really the location and one side character are really the only crossover. Book one does tie in with book three and four. It is a great read, so I would try it if you get a chance, but could also be done out of order with this one.

This book starts off with Anna moving back to the small town in Georgia that she grew up in after her father dies and she inherits all his money, which is lots. Before that, she was working in Atlanta because he had cut her off from his money. When she comes back, she finds a house that she always loved as a child is on the market. She decides to buy it even though, it is said to be haunted. It doesn’t take long for her to learn exactly how haunted the house actually is.

Luc is a demon, an incubus to be exact. He has been trapped in this house for about fifty years when a witch that he fell in love with cursed him. As an incubus, he is not able to have sex with the same women too many times in a row, or he will kill them by feeding too much. Luc’s witch was very jealous of him sleeping with other women (let’s face, I would be too), so she traps him in the house where he is not able to leave. The problem with that, is that he eventually gets so “hungry” that he drains her to death. Now he is trapped in the house without a way to escape. His brother, Cain (yes, that Cain), brings women to the house each night, so that Luc has something to feed from.
Luc doesn’t show himself to Anna for a long time. He “haunts” the house trying to scare her away, to no avail. She hears moaning and thinks is the ghost, when it is really Luc with the girls his brother has been delivering to him. When Anna comes home from a date, that she despised, and said date is overly forceful with her, Luc comes to her rescue and finally shows himself to her. He explains his issue. Cain makes an appearance and tries to force the two together by refusing to bring more food for Luc. Anna’s solution, she gets him a “harem” of prostitutes. This causes tons of jealousy, and why wouldn’t it, but Anna doesn’t know what else to do. At this point, she has yet to sleep with Luc.

There are some humorous sections, but not the level of snark that I’m used to from the likes of Molly Harper or Darynda Jones. It is a much more subtle and quirky humor, but still good and adds to the story. The story is passionate and heartbreaking to read at times. You feel sorry for both main characters as they try to figure out this almost impossible situation they are in.

I enjoyed the narration. I think Chet Williamson did a great job. I enjoyed not only the male, but also the female characters. I had already read this book before listening and I feel his rendition, really added to the storytelling. I’m hoping that the author will get some more of this series done in audio with the same narrator. Currently, just book one and two are recorded, both with this narrator.

I listened to this story when it was titled Save my Soul (I I'm more of an audiobook person, though I will read a story I love, if an audiobook is not available) and just revisited with the rerelease. This story can be read as a stand alone. Really the location and one side character are really the only crossover. A pleasant paranormal (romance) story, even if it's not mindblowing.
The hero was surprisingly sweet and the story had less sex that you would expect form an incubus story. It focused more on the mc/plot rather than the romance
