I mean. it was a little interesting. I think the whole trial part was really interesting and the way they were about black people. But i read another review and it made me realize that it is very much giving white savior. And the ending was strange but i liked it.

Such an interesting read. It really makes you think about how it would be like to live in that time. As I could not imagine thinking people who aren’t white are not equal to me. I know non-whites still face racism today. But to think of how they were treated back then is just awful. But I liked that Jen, Dill and Scout all thought it was wrong what they were doing to Tom Robinson. It shows childhood innocence and that people are taught to be racist they aren’t born that way, and because their father hadn’t raised them to be they weren’t.

This book was one of my all time favorites that I read in highschool and had to reread it now as an adult. This is definitely one of my favorite classics and recommend highly. The anger you feel about how Tom Robinson is treated is real and are thankful to Atticus for defending him. Scout POV is brilliant as she is a child trying to understand the way of life. Overall an amazing classic!

I found the writing really engaging; I was gripped and it was definitely a page-turner imo.
I really enjoyed Scout’s narration, her relationship with Jem and Atticus was adorable.
I liked how the town was portrayed and the different ppl in it and how they all had specific and recognisable traits. The story was just told very well imo.
I’d say it’s a must-read as classics go but I really cannot “ignore” the n-word being used, idc that “it was a different time” and I know that it’s authentic bc that is what happened and it’s showcased well by the writing, I just don’t want to see the word written by a white person. If that’s “sensitive”, then I’ll turn it around and ask if being insensitive about it is okay…
Anyway, I’m glad I (finally) read it
