First recorded reading was in October 7, 2009.

In this eleventh story in the Stephanie Plum series, Steph keeps threatening to quit her job with her cousin's bail bonds company, and she soon discovers how much worse it can be. It's too typical of Evanovich's humor with her newest boss…

"'…you must be careful not to make ethnic slurs.'

'Sure. You want to tell me the name of this country?'

'Latorran.'

'Never heard of it.'

'You see, already you are treading in very dangerous waters.'"

And it's leftover birthday cake. God, how I want one of my own! Although, if I have to think of Mama Macaroni and her mole, well, my appetite gets shot all to hell. As for Ranger, yep, that hottie has his priorities:

"'I just shot a guy in the foot,' I told him.

'Did he deserve it?'

'That's sort of a tough moral question. …'

'Did you destroy the evidence? Were there witnesses? Did you come up with a good lie?'

'Yes. No. Yes.'

'Move on,' Ranger said.'"

And this is the one in which Stephanie goes to work for Ranger…

5 stars.

I love just this series. It’s my comfort series. When I have a bad run of books or currently when Pandemic Season 3 has gotten to be too much I come right back here to Stephanie Plum and she fixes it all.

This was my favorites so far. I really liked the mystery, I loved Stephanie working at Rangeman, and was much more impressed with her survival skills. She certainly has come a long way. And of course the crazy cast of characters and the numerous shenanigans she finds herself in are just the best and always make me smile.

Also, I loved how this book ended. I laughed out loud.

Bravo. My favorite so far. Can’t wait to continue reading this series.

Consistent if not particularly fresh or exciting. Better than a few of the others right before it.
