so sex focused compared to everything else and so heteronormative so i didn’t care that much lol, but glad i listened to it (out of interest rather than looking for explanations etc)
The book is somewhat bias as the author advocates going as natural as possible (avoid hormonal birth control, get off the anti-depressants, stop drinking milk because it's unnatural, et cetera). Before deciding to go cold turkey, understand everyone is different and that it's up to oneself to decide what choices to make to one's own body. The book is informative, however, at helping one understand how different factors can affect a woman during certain stages of her life. While women are the target audience, I encourage men to read it as well.
This is a must read/own/re-read/share with friends/ask doctor/therapist about book. We need more books like this and we need more people talking about and understanding the way womens bodies operate and respond to medical especially Rx intervention.
I'd give it 3.5 stars rather than just 3.0. It's like having a big sister who happens to be a doctor giving you the talk about womanhood. All that's needed is a red tent bc honestly we need more talks like these. The main complaint I have is that the book feels rushed, and that's possibly bc the book focuses mostly on biology. But, what about biology tied to social constructs?
Not really a book that had me dying to pick up again & again but every time I did I really felt like I was learning a lot.

More clinical than I hoped, and seemed to most cater to those taking psychiatric medicine. Not what I was hoping for, but perhaps useful to others.
An absolute deluge of information, but i managed to glean some useful tidbits from the overwhelming mix. Esp appreciated the chapters on food and sleep
