Want is a rich, compelling, well- and thoroughly-researched guide through some oftentimes tough material. If approaching this subject ever feels a bit like a tightly-wound trek through a pitch-black cave, anxiety running high, as jump-scares seem to be promised behind every corner, rest assured--Peters' friendly and courageous voice acts as a flaming torch lighting the path ahead, with the confidence of someone who knows every turn like the back of her hand. You are safe here.

Want untangles and de-mystifies the web of corrupt systems and histories that influence, spark, and perpetuate r*pe culture. Peters demonstrates a thorough understanding of the larger forces that allow sexual violence to occur, contextualizing individual stories within a larger viewpoint.

I suggest Want as an integral and essential reading experience, not only for any survivor of sexual violation, but for any and every person who has ever been, is, or will ever be, sexually active.

TLDR; read this book. You will be happier, healthier, more colourful, more informed, and will have greater sex because of it.
