The rare book that is even better than the original.

Heartbreaking, devastating, perfect.

just as inexplicably calm and wonderfully captivating as its predecessor. Maybe I have an unaddressed bias toward the quiet children's books I read as it's getting dark outside, but this is absolutely a 5-star experience.

Thanks to Rosemary's review at Mom Read It for bringing the existence of this book to my attention. I really must try to read it before the year is up.

Just like Scary Stories for Young Foxes, I immensely enjoyed these as well. This was to me was so much more than the first. A truly great read for budding readers in the thriller genre (and even adults *wink*). This made me laugh with the Foxes, get scared, almost cry and certainly have great hope. Highly recommend to anyone.

Legit scary, with bloody injuries and death, but not cheap. Author reads and does a good job as well.

3.5/5…This sequel has a similar structure to its predecessor, but is basically linear, where the OG was more like interweaving short stories that came together. Pretty good, and terrifying in its own way, if less almost mythological.

Stellar! I loved the first one; the sequel matches the energy and the excellent storytelling framework. I found the second book actually more horrifying, because of the frequent encounters with…well, *people* as humans slowly erode the foxes’ habitat.
