There’s a lot of decent reviews for this book so maybe plot wise other people like this, but I think that overlooks some less personal opinion issues in the book. I would have loved the plot line of the raging murdering men teenagers, but even that dissolves. I even think that plot point is oversold, they’re really not on a spree.
The white feminism of this book is wild. The only trans character is murdered in the first 50 pages and deadnamed. The only Indigenous character literally guides our main white woman and then disappears.
The time travel and “minor timeline edits” without somehow blowing up the whole world and changing society in major ways, makes no sense. Villains are so one dimensional, I know what they’re saying is terrible but they don’t feel like an actual threat. The intense no killing rule by the 2022 women, only for one of them to murder someone anyway, and that one person being the begin and end to all misogyny? Get out of here. Seriously. Please leave my presence with this book.

Really fun time-travel feminist sci-fi. Just sad that Grape Ape doesn't exist anymore

Now, this is one badass piece of truly feminist fiction. Recommended.

A novel about time travelling feminists in a historical editing war with time travelling misogynists is a little on the nose but I still enjoyed it.
Newitz grounds the premise in emotion derived from her own trauma, which brings a resonance to the characters they may not have had.
