So, after reading this book I went onto the website to look at the reviews. What was astounding that so many people had given this book really good reviews, so obviously anyone with any good taste in literature is not reading this book. Then again, anyone who would pick this book up in first place after seeing it's cover is obviously insane. But, seriously, HAVE YOU PEOPLE LOST YOUR MINDS?!?!?!?! Seriously, do NOT read this book, that is four (or so) hours of my life I will never get back. Although, it was rather entertaining to make fun of, and it made me feel a lot better about my own writing.
Essentially, the main character is being stalked in her dreams by a psycho killer, and goes around with the son of the guy prosecuting her in court in random hotel rooms while her mother is for some reason gone for a few weeks on a trip in Europe. During this time, Trinity, the main character, who happens to be eighteen, is basically living in hotels with the guy. Sound realistic yet? Well, that's probably due to the fact that it never does. In addition, of course, they have to share a queen size bed in all the motels, so they build a pillow barrier, which Trinity ends up awkwardly jumping over in the middle of the night. Anyway, she ends up randomly drinking a ton of tequila, puking on guy with her, Dan, and then sleeping with him.

When I first saw a picture of this cover, I had now idea it was a suspense story, I thought it was another cute romance. So when I actually saw the book trailer, I was surprised. The book looked so good I had to give it a try, even though scary stories aren't my favorite. (Plus, there was a promise of romance, so I knew it had to have something I'd like!)
I ended up loving it! It was a quick read that kept me up-(in a good way wanting to read more, not in an 'I'm so scared' kind of way) and it was full of suspense! Plus, there's a great romance between Trinity and Dan, who just so happens to be the son of the lawyer that got Rafe off on insanity. It was just a perfect blend for a scaredy cat like me.
There's a lot about Trinity's dream walking gift that I'd like to know, so I hope Terri Clark writes more about Trinity. Plus, Terri Clark is a teen librarian-yay-and who better to write for teens than someone who works with them all day? (I especially loved that she had Dan and Trinity head to the library to do research!) I thought this was a good debut and I'd recommend it readers wanting some mystery and suspense with their romance.

Sleepless had a very cool premise to it. Trinity can basically "dream hop" and see the darkest most personal parts of people's lives. This leads her to seeing her friend, Kiri, getting killed by Rafe. The whole book revolves around Rafe and what happens after he is convicted of killing Kiri.
While the concept of the book was unique, the execution was poor. I never truly got a grasp of how Trinity's "powers" worked and what brought them on in the first place. The author touched on in a bit, but since it is what the whole book is surrounded by, I think it should have been explained more. Like knowing how Trinity happened to have dreamed of Kiri the night she was killed. Along with that, I wish we knew more about Kiri and got a flashback of Kiri and Trinity.
Then there was Dan. I liked him as a character, but again, he was just underdeveloped. He seems to show up out of nowhere and have this deep interest in Trinity. And of course, Dan and Trinity's relationship. It evolves so quickly and is way too insta-lovey for my taste. I usually don't mind that, but in this case, it felt like they were just brought together by Rafe. Besides that, they didn't have a great connection.
I also did not enjoy how the author completely jumped over parts and left it up to the reader to decipher what happened. There was one chapter in specific that started and it talks about this huge development between Trinity and Dan. It wasn't talked about in the previous chapter though, so I had to go back and double check to make sure I didn't accidentally skip over something.
Overall, I think this book had great potential but just needed to be executed better. I actually think it would benefit a lot by being longer and having more detail. Cool concept though!

Trinty Micheals is able to walk throught dreams. She put away a murderer, Rafe as a pshychic and is known as "Dream Girl" after a leak. Kiri came to her about a year ago asking for help. Trinity's best friend Coral is going away for Soccor camp. Coral gives her a "homework assignment", she is suppose to buy a blue dress, go out more, and to go on a date.
Trinity meets Dan Devlin. He is the son of the defense lawyer that got Rafe off on insanity. Trinity's mother goes away to Europe on a long awaited trip. Soon, Trinity sees Rafe in her dreams and he can harm her. The only person to turn to is Dan. They find out that Rafe has escaped and will go after anyone to get to her. She must stay awake to stay alive.
This book is very supenseful, but has some romance. I found Dan to be very cute and I loved the little romance that was going on. I also found it to be a very quick read. I really liked the character. It was well written. Her dreamwalking didn't seem fake and was well developed. The pop culture refrences were also very nice and enjoyed them. This was amazing for a debut novel and I can't wait for more from Terri Clark. If you have read Lisa McMann's Wake, I am sure that you will enjoy this also.

Where can I even begin about this book? It was really good. It was a quick read, it was quick to get into, and once I started reading it, I couldn't stop. I didn't want to put this down because I needed to know what happened to Trinity and Dan.
The characters were written pretty good. The one thing I would've liked more of was a bigger description of them, but the author gives you enough information to where you can picture them in your head.
There were also a few parts that were a bit hard to understand, so I had to go back and re-read them. Once I went back and re-read them, however, they made more sense to me than they did the first time through.
The idea of the book was something I've never heard or read about, so Terri Clark definitely gets extra points for originality and creativity.
