This is the most intense of the books of this series so far. Emotionally I was very satisfied, but I would have liked more lovemaking scenes as in the other books, even if I understand the reason why this particular book had to be a slow burn, especially in the bedchamber.
Both characters have a difficult past regarding lovemaking and they have to learn to trust each other to let it go. The mystery plot interwoven with the love story is interesting, but I needed a more “graphic” conclusion, some scene when the villain is dealt with and when the murderer is found. Maybe this should have been a full length book! Regardless, I enjoyed reading it very much. This is a wonderful pair of authors and I hope they’ll write more books like this series!
