"The House of Slaughter, the Order of St George, they slay monsters, sure, but no one is saving the children."
The House of Slaughter series is an interesting concept - take a character that you know bites it in the main series (Something is Killing the Children) and flesh him out even moreso in this appendage series. Not only increasing the depth of Aaron Slaughter, but of the culture of House Slaughter itself (its denizens: Jessica, Helen, Cecilia, The Twins and The Dragon), as well as the inter-House politics of the Order of St George on American soil.
Great-prequel/spinoff volume to the [b:Something is Killing the Children, Vol. 1|52757827|Something is Killing the Children, Vol. 1|James Tynion IV|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1639219071l/52757827._SY75_.jpg|73727115] series.
