What feels like the weirdest night of my life floats naturally through this house, as if random guests are an everyday thing and leftover lasagna is the cure for every ailment. An hour ago I didn’t belong anywhere in the world, and now I’ve been recharged with several hugs and one forehead kiss, and there’s a bed upstairs with clean sheets on it just for me. Sometimes the dumbest thing you’ve ever done is actually a work of genius in disguise.

The motocross concept is what got me hooked in the first place. Honestly, I knew absolutely nothing about motocross before I read this book. I was as clueless as Hana when it comes to this sport and luckily there are some explanations about motocross terms so I wasn't as lost as I initially thought. The explanations are done nicely without being too info-dumpy so I was able to process the information.

Hana is an okay main character, but I had mixed feelings with her. I think the author successfully portrays her as a teenage girl who has this massive crush on a guy, the way Hana pays attention to her appearance whenever she wants to see her crush. While Hana didn't really stand out to me as a character, I really liked her friendship with Shelby. Shelby just seems like an awesome girl who is fun to be with. I think she’s quite mature but can be overenthusiastic as well, like when it comes to motocross obviously! The other secondary characters such as Molly and Teig are likable too.

There’s a love triangle blooming between Hana, Ash (Shelby’s twin) and Ryan. Ash is – hands down – my favorite character in this book. He may look like a criminal with those dreadlocks, but in the inside... he’s pure goodness! He’s kind-hearted and definitely not an arrogant jerk. He’s honest, patient and just like Shelby, Ash is also mature to the point that he thinks that “looks aren't everything”.

"Sorry Shell, I just don't want you changing anything about yourself to win the attention of a guy. Especially a motocross guy." He [Ash] puts his forehead to hers for a moment. "You're way too good for that, okay?"

Ryan is the complete opposite of Ash. He is clean-cut and handsome too but his attitude is way too arrogant for my taste. I felt the romance is a bit rushed and I think Hana falls in love – or extreme attraction whatever that is – too fast that I had difficulty buying it. However, I really liked how this book ends, it concludes the story well. Overall, it’s a nice and light and enjoyable summer read. :)

When i first read the description of the book Motocross Me by Cheyanne Young, I knew it would be a perfect book for me. When I finally got my hands on it, I was right about how great the story actually was. Not only did I learn about motocross as a sport, but I learned that everyone makes mistakes every now and then and life is about trial and error. This book also shed light on the fact that, even if a boy has the perfect looks, his personality may not be as perfect, and in the end it’s the inside that matters. Cheyanne Young did an amazing job with the storyline and I can honestly say that I was never bored while reading this book. As I turned each page, I grew a love for the many characters and I did not want their stories to end. However, the ending was written beautifully and was the type to make the reader happy with the outcome for all the characters in the book. Kudos to Cheyanne for all the hard work that was put into writing this amazing book because it made Motocross Me one of my many favorites. I look forward to reading any and all future works written by Cheyanne Young because I know that she won’t disappoint me when she writes another amazing story.

So, I enjoyed Motocross Me far more than I ever expected to! Which isn't bad for someone who hated being dragged across the country to her brother's various motocross races. But, Motocross Me is such an adorable, and frankly quite interesting, read that I couldn't help but enjoy it. It's such a quick, easy read and I just raced through it.

Motocross Me is set at Mixon Motocross Track so, obviously, perfect for a book about motocross. But, I loved that Hana didn't enjoy being at the track, to begin with - I related so much to this. And the story is described so perfectly, that even though I went to motocross in the UK, I recognised so many different aspects of the racing. In a weird way, it brought back memories.

I really liked the characters too. I did think Hana was a bit of an airhead to start with. But she grew on me and I just really liked her by the end. I loved that she's very family-orientated and is happy-ish to pull her weight at the track.

Ash was also a brilliant character. He is just so nice and easy-going, even when he's being serious. He treats Hana with respect which is the complete opposite of Ryan. Ryan is just simply a self-centred a**hole.

Motocross Me is told from Hana's perspective and, as she has only just moved back to the track, I found this a great way of explaining the rules of motocross simply (as well as telling her story). It was a bit like Hana kept jogging her own memory.

Hana's story is fairly predictable, but it was also a fun and adorable read. The pacing was just right too, especially during the excitement during the races (which is probably pretty difficult to get right). And because there is racing involved, I found plenty of little twists and turns along the way. But the story ties up very nicely in the end and the ending was just too perfect for words.

However, I did notice some continuity errors throughout the story. More noticeably, Teig's age. At one point, he is 13-years-old and then later this changes to 9, so I wasn't really sure if he was acting right for his age.

Motocross Me was a very good read. I just couldn't put it down and it really was a bit of a blast from the past with my own motocross experience. Motocross Me shows that you can hate motocross when growing up, yet still enjoy a book about motocross (haha!). I would definitely recommend Motocross Me to fans of sporty contemporary YA reads.

I loved the setting and the insight into the land of motocross, which I previously knew absolutely nothing about. I had huge issues with the main character, though. I thought Hana was spoiled and bratty, and I didn't feel like she truly learned her lesson in the end.
