I wanted to like this final arc, but it didn’t have any of the charm of the previous volumes. For one, I could not figure out why they went in the direction they did for Nakiko; Nagawa was on a scavenger hunt the whole time; the antagonist had absolutely no endgame for what he was doing, so he just felt like a nobody with no motivation other than the story needed a flat, dimensionless bad guy; and the ending was just meh. There was no reward for sticking it out until the end. And on top of those examples, the art was terrible. I’m sad this is how the series went out. It deserved better.
