As this summer seems to be coming to a close so quickly, I can't help to think about this book, which I'd read over half a year ago. I was riding my bike this morning, and remembering how the grandfather's favorite part of summer was waking up to the first lawn-mowing of summer. And then that made me think about dandelion wine, and how these are the moments I should be drinking up; storing so I can remember during the colder parts oof the year. This book is phenominal, Bradbury at his best. I'd reccomend any and everyone to read it.

Ray Bradbury is one hell of a storyteller. His words flow so smoothly and paint such a vibrant picture, I fear no review of mine could do this book justice. He’s got me out here trying to find copies of his poetry collections, and I have never yet found any poetry I’ve liked or wanted to read, or hell probably even understood properly. But I think if there are any out there I will enjoy, they’ll be written by Ray Bradbury. I think my teachers all missed the mark by not having any of his works as required reading. (Which isn’t to say I didn’t enjoy at least most of the books that were required, but there could’ve been more.)

Bradbury's writing is at its most poetic here; the language is very evocative and the story at times, moved me to tears. However, the themes and metaphors are about as subtle as a toddler on Christmas day. Too syrupy and sentimental for me to want to reread, but I did like it alright. Not my favorite Bradbury, but alright. Just, really, really glad I didn't get it forced on me in school. This book screams english teacher wet dream lmao

" Вино из одуванчиков. Самые эти слова — точно лето на языке. Вино из одуванчиков — пойманное и закупоренное в бутылки лето."

"Когда человеку семнадцать, он знает все. Если ему двадцать семь и он по-прежнему знает все – значит, ему все еще семнадцать."

"Я был как в лихорадке и чувствовал, что живу. И если жить полной жизнью — значит умереть скорее, пусть так: предпочитаю умереть быстро, но сперва вкусить еще от жизни."
