Oliva is the most annoying character… honesty I was hoping for a better twist

This book didn’t get a lot of praise on IG but I did enjoy this for some reason. I don’t find the story unique as there has been a lot of books/movies about sperm donation gone crazy. I found the love triangle to be entertaining and I also love the fact that most of the MCs got their happy endings in some way. I think there is an opportunity for book 2 and I would love to see that book turn into something more wicked.

A very well written, fast paced book with lots to keep you entertained. It had some unexpected plot twists which was very enjoyable. I never got bored with this book and it kept me wanting to read it. I highly recommend

If Bella Swan chose the hottest, most jockiest guy in school instead of vampy Eddie, she would've grown up to be Olivia Bender, this book's mc.

Olivia is a Mary Sue who all the guys are in love with (yes, all the guys)...because, duh, she's just sooo beautiful and sooo strong, or so we're told over and over and over and over again (more of a warrior, really, according to one character). She has big secrets, but none of them are her fault, as we're also told again and again.

A couple questions: What ever happened to show don't tell? Are we just pretending that being lectured to and told how to feel about societal issues and characters is fun now? Were we supposed to be rooting for these bland characters? The only one who felt like a real human was the teenager, Scarlet, everyone else was a boring one dimensional cardboard cutout. This pushed a narrative that nothing in your life is your fault, you're not accountable for your actions, and how dare people think you responsible for anything, at the same time blaming mothers for the mc's rage issues.

Not even Julia Whealan could make up for the awful writing here. I wish I had the hardcopy so I could throw it across the room.

Then rip it into pieces.

Burn it.

And flush the ashes down the toilet.

So cringe. So boring. I only didn't DNF it because my other library books are on hold.

But I'm in the minority here, so maybe it's just me. I wouldn't recommend this book to any avid readers out there, especially those who read thrillers and mysteries. You'll be subjected to all of the above, and guess everything in the first 20% of the book.

1.5 ⭐️, rounded to 2 because I felt bad that this was such a personal book for the author.

But I hated it.
