Brilliant and just what I was looking for - but I was left with the question - how can anyone know so much, and write so well, on so many topics? We’ve got military, social and cultural history; architecture; music and art; gastronomy ….really impressive stuff.

I was so pleased to find a book which brings together so much wide ranging information on the Canary Islands archipelago. The authors reverence, in particular, for the pre-Hispanic Guanche population and their lasting impact on the islands was an angle I particularly appreciated.

A must read for anyone who loves the Canaries like I do!
