Man, I'm going to miss having Descender and Ascender comics to look forward to. But damn, what a perfect send-off.

I'm reticent to talk much about the content within, as this is the finale to a long running series, so I'll just leave it at this: the series is a beautifully-illustrated, perfectly laid out, well written masterpiece with delightful characters, a fantastic world for them to live in, and a terrific finale.

Read Descender and Ascender. It'll make your life better.

Phew. Still putting together my thoughts. It did all come together but it felt rushed. Maybe a second read? Interesting conclusion to this followup.

Ending feels a little rushed, but there's still all the likable characters and the amazing art of Nguyen which never fails to blow my mind. Looking forward to eventually re-reading the whole series in one sitting.

Satisfying conclusion to both Ascender (as well as the preceding Descender) with a few surprises along the way.

Not as enjoyable as the Descender series but still a solid ending, though a bit rushed. I'll miss these characters and this beautiful art.

With graphic novels, I find my self very grateful that I keep a book log where I jot notes about how a book ends. It is especially handy with graphic novels and manga that stretch across numerous volumes. But, even with a scan of my notes on Volume Three, I felt like I was rushed through quite a bit of action in too few pages.

Overall, I did enjoy the Descender/Ascender series and I would highly recommend it to fans of sci-fi (both) and fantasy (Ascender). The watercolor artwork is incredible and conveys so much action & emotion within each frame. But with this concluding volume, I felt like the authors and artists were trying to do too much in too few pages. The ending was so quick that I flipped to the back cover to make sure that I had read correctly: this is the end of Ascender. Yes, I read correctly. And I set aside this last book thinking that I would miss the characters, I was incredibly unsatisfied, and that such big plotlines were just…over.
