I just didn't love this.  It was cute, I just thought it would be more?
I'm not sure.  All the different pastas are fun and there are some particularly cute parts like the tortellini fighting the ravioli, lol.  But, this one just kind of fell flat for me.  Now, that's not to say that children won't love it.  It just wasn't my bowl of noodles.

...

Do you like what I did there?  Ok, I'll see myself out.

-probably 3 for kids / 2 for me

This was really kinda stupid - but in that stupid way that makes you laugh. I thought it was funny, and I think kids would get a kick out of it.

Cute idea, but rather anticlimactic.

I have not purchased this for my library yet and grabbed it at the public library. I read it with my son. I don't talk a lot about my son (right?) a heavy word to describe him is neuroatypical - I am not sure it's fair to pigeon hole him. But it explains his food strike. About the time I kicked his dad out, my son stopped eating everything except shell mac. No tubes, worms, or bow ties and nothing he had previously loved, so green beans and hot dogs out the door. He wouldn't even eat pancakes. Cookies though - he'd eat cookies.

He loved the book, but was not inspired to try another pasta shape. Except couscous. He recently agreed to try that again. Said he liked it but didn't eat much and hasn't requested it again. Sorry this review has turned out to be quite personal. It will be interesting to see how the students relate to it though. It might be fun to have the students write out their favorite pasta recipes.

Now have read this book to all of my k-2. They liked the book and were inspired to write their own pasta recipes or draw their own pasta shaped. It reminded them of Everyone Loves Bacon, so they were ready to laugh.
