Magic Tree House derivative with knights; lots of battle action with dinosaurs that is not TOO scary. Nice formation of a squad, incorporating people with more differences than they initially expected.

I enjoy all of Matt Phelan’s books, so I was excited to see something new from him. It didn’t disappoint!

What a lovely book.

It was very action packed and I loved the character development in each knight. The Black Knight was obviously my favorite. What she did during her battles were awesome. I thought it was a really good idea to have some girls in the group, it made me feel included in the adventure.

I loved all of the illustrations, they made the story come alive.

Overall, it was a really fun read and I might read the other books in the series!

Read this one aloud with my kids (1st and 3rd grade). They loved it so much that they both went to school the next day with plans to tell their teachers about the book and suggest that the class read it together. I can confirm that at least one of those children remembered to follow through.

Action and comedy abound. There are two strong female characters in what could easily have been a very testosterone-filled tale, and they're very well written. A+

A goofy and lighthearted romp - as one might expect from the title. The black and white sketches add an extra dash of fun along the way.

In this illustrated novel for ages 8-12, the Knights of the Round Table are transported back in time by that tricky Merlin to battle dinosaurs while learning some valuable lessons. Obviously there are hilarious escapades, unexpected results, and some surprising lessons learned! Accompanied by graphic novel-style illustrations from the award-winning author-illustrator. Who will win? Read the book to find out!
