Oh good it’s the Shaggy man , you know the Chewbacca look-alike who nearly defeated the Justice league ? yeah him and apparently Aquaman , King of Atlantis will save the day by defeating him single handedly or something .

They are really pushing it hard to prove to readers that Aquaman is stronger than most Justice league members , however it feels like they are forcing that view on us instead of making it our own choice. So far the whole plan of black manta seems sort of weird and non-relevant and while the world of atlantis is nearing it’s doom the fact that there’s plot involving rituals to grant Mera permission to marry feels sorta silly.

Basically it’s a disappointing issue for me

Not sure how to feel about Mera being held trained to be the spiritual side to Arthur's manly body. But I do want her to be taken seriously as Arthur's SO??!

So many feelings.

Also, there's a Shaggy Man. But he is not cool.

Been a while since I read this series, but this made it hard to remember why I loved it so much. The bullshit Mera has to go through is obnoxious, but is interesting in the way it makes explicit the dumb shit women have to go through to be worthy in a seemingly patriarchal society.
