" 'They're all dead and I don't know how or even why I survived, but I did.' The frown was gone as quickly as it had appeared and now she's smiling. 'We owe it to those who died to live our lives, become our best selves, and here we can.' "

"Magda nods. 'I know. We've moved continents, put seas between then and now, and yet...' her voice drifts, but Livi understands. They are still under the same sky and their memories are woven into their flesh. It will take more than the soil of a new earth under their fingernails to feel safe again."

"Magda draws closer to Yitzchak and gently wipes the tears from his cheeks. His eyes meet hers, and there is pain in them, but there is something else too-something she recognizes: hope. No more words are needed as Magda understands the ways in which they can share their pain and grief......Right here, right now, thinks Magda, is where we found each other."

" 'I didn't know how else to honor the three of you and what you did to survive and give us our lives,' he sobs."

This was the third book related to the Tattooist of Auschwitz. It follows three sisters, their journeys through Auschwitz/Birkenau. It's a tragic tale, the three sister make a promise to their dying father long before Auschwitz, to always be together. Through many struggles, the sisters kept their promise.

This was a decent read. Though it was a little redundant at times, when a sister would focus on nothing but breaking her promise to always keep her sisters safe.
