I understand why Charlotte was so upset by Matthew's actions and thoughts towards her rising success. He wasn't a supportive husband. He's definitely jealous.
I really enjoyed this book! The main character was interesting, and even though I couldn't really relate to her problems (separation pending divorce), I could absolutely relate to her personality.
Charlotte Goodman's relationship is falling apart after less than a year of marriage to who she thought was the perfect man for her. After leaving her and coming back, Charlotte decides the anxiety he's caused from leaving her isn't worth staying in the relationship. On top of that, she has one friend, a so-so relationship with her parents, and a job she hates. To her, she's reached pretty close to rock bottom.
Then at a coworker's party, an unlikely friend comes along and introduces Charlotte to something she would never in a million years try out for: roller derby.
Through her newfound athleticism and penchant for masochism, Charlotte begins a journey of rediscovering who she used to be and growing into a completely new person all at once.
The writing is funny and natural and all in all, it was a fun read I would recommend to my friends.

I really enjoyed this book. It made me smile. It made me laugh (out loud). It made me want to get up and kick ass. Yeah, it's chick lit, but don't hold that against me. This is worth reading.
Quick read. It started off with some amusing observations. I really enjoyed it until soon after the main character finds Roller Derby. From there, Roller Derby gets to be a little bit too heavy-handed a metaphor for dealing with the bumps and bruises of life. It was easy to cruise to the finish.
