A very interesting and informative biography. I didn't realize that Webster had written so many different books. As a word nerd through and through, I am extremely happy he was obsessed with words too.

This book was such a fun read and a perfect read aloud. Telling the story of Noah Webster and his love of words, the book cleverly weaves words with dictionary definitions as well as historical information.

A fine short biography, liked how they defined words as they went though (although it would have been nice to see a few more complex ones), great connections to American History as well.

This book barely made it in under the wire, but I'm happy it did arrive in time for me to read it for the Cybils. The charm of this book is the novel way Ferris tells Webster's story, using big words that are written like dictionary entries. Absolutely capĀ·tiĀ·vating [kap-tuh-veyt] 1. to attract and hold the attention or interest of, as by beauty or excellence; enchant.
