I sped this one up and skipped a bunch in the middle. Maybe not fair. I think I'm in a slump with fiction. But this was also a lot of commentary about society and the mental health crisis and social media influencers and...I'm just too old to care.

Ironically (or perhaps unironically) this book was the only thing that could get me to stop doom scrolling on Instagram.
A bit disappointed in this one. I've enjoyed the author's other series so I was expecting to enjoy this one. Not so much. Didn't really enjoy any of the characters or the story. The story went off on tangents that i just didn't care about to. It was ok, could've been better and could've been worse.

I wanted to like this book but the MC is just too unlikable. MC is an incel and goes on multiple angry incel rants at the woman he's got stuck in a car with him for the majority of the book. She tries to gently play therapist and challenge him on his views (because of course it's a woman's job to fix men's flaws) but he doesn't really get any clear redemption. Kept reading to find out what was in the box but it wasn't worth it in the end.
