I really love this book. It was super funny but also had some good commentary about how people interact socially.

“Is this fucking play about us?”

Because that’s exactly how this book felt. It’s smart, unsettling, and way too on-the-nose when it comes to life online. The story captures how quickly things on the internet can spiral—how facts get distorted, how speculation becomes “truth,” and how real people can end up in danger when narratives take on a life of their own.

But it’s not just about misinformation. This book also digs into the emotional toll of our always-connected world: the isolation, the anxiety, the creeping sense of disconnection that can leave you feeling more alone than ever—despite being constantly “plugged in.” There’s a quiet commentary running through it about how that disconnection feeds a kind of modern depression we haven’t quite figured out how to name.

One line that hit especially hard:

“The internet doesn’t need proof—it just needs momentum.”

Yes, the writing leans a little YA, and yes, it gets a bit wordy at times—but the themes are dead-on. If you’ve ever watched a rumor snowball into something dangerous, or felt the existential weight of online life pressing down, this book will land. I definitely recommend it—just be prepared to log off and sit in your feelings afterward.
