The Baltimore Boys is a book where Joël Dicker steps further away from the thriller-like books he usually writes. Having said that, the quality is still top. The writing style, as usual, keeps you engaged and interested. The pages flow while reading, same as the story lines. In this book, we get to know more about Marcus Goldman’s past, his childhood, and his family. I enjoyed a lot how every single detail about Marcus’ life matched to what we knew about him from Harry Quebert. Like in the first book with Marcus Goldman as main character, Marcus is struggling with an idea for his new book, and what better source of motivation that your own past, your own drama, your own heartbreak? Once again, I want you all to read Joël Dicker’s books. He never disappoints, always high quality writing and stories!

Like Sally Rooney, but with a plot.
Normalise having awesome and vibrant and textured characters AND an interesting and convoluted plot.
I love the move of building up to something, and it is done exceptionally here. The tragedy is not disappointing. Non-linear storytelling is not confusing but logical and inspiring.
