This is pure smut, the "plot" started at around 90%. The ending wrapped it up pretty quickly and it was alright ig but the "you're mine" and "baby girl" honestly gave me the ick. Also the implication that this citys elite are basically holding women hostage without consequences is really disturbing.
The inner monologue and the emotions were incredibly repetitive until they randomly changed for no apparent reason.
This is basically just Stockholm-Syndrome and yassified slavery but it was kind of a fun read and the ending was fine, so🤷

So....not sure what will be flagged but let's just say that certain scenarios in this are crimes without an agreement between those involved. And its written so we all know this but can still appreciate the fantasy that comes with Cookies Need Chocolate. That being said I liked the author notes but usually just skipped reading them cuz I want the juicy moments!

This is the first book of the series, but I am glad I read it last. I wouldn’t have read the others if this is where I started. I understand that all acts are consensual in the book, and yet everything felt very rape-y at the start. I was quite uncomfortable. Then all the “daddy/baby girl” talk started that made it so much worse! I can forgive a lot of what happens in the other 5 books of this series. For some reason this one just wasn’t it. I feel like this book could have been so much better if Jasmine started off as a sub then realized she wanted the dom role. Supposedly the characters are in love? Just seemed like lust to me. Again, there’s so much I can forgive in these books, but this one fell flat across the board in ways the others did not. I recommend skipping over this one entirely and start with book 2

This was uncomfortable. Katee is the queen of 'fifty shades of (insert character here)'. This mirrored the other books by her that I have read but honestly I did not enjoy this. I feel like other people had mixed reviews of not enough plot and too much plot; I thought it had a good amount of plot. I literally cringed anytime she called him daddy, I hate the daddy and baby girl dynamic because for me it shouts daddy issues/incest. This was a (Disney) classic in reverse with an entire sailors book of language and many scenes that gave me fifty shade vibes. Honestly this was exactly what I knew I would get, and yet I went forward with blind optimism.
