I had no idea this was a superhero story at all want to pick it up. I only found out when I read a few reviews and I read the back after I had already read the story. Because of that I actually just thought this was a story about immigration not about superpowers or superheroes at all. It still made sense that way but definitely don't read this thinking that you're going to get a superhero story.
What happened to the ice officer was very surprising and considering nothing really came of it is a little hard to believe. The ending was also a little too convenient for the story as it was because everything else was made to be realistic and a struggle. I wish that they had just kept it a relatable story about immigration and the fears that come along with being undocumented.
