What are you looking for when you pick up a Fantasy Book?

In my case, I Look for an immersive world, one that will make me feel like a part of it, of its history and culture, or at least of their everyday life (be that good or bad)

I look for an intriguing storyline that could be a rebellion, a quest, or a save the kingdom adventure…

A little magic and romance sprinkle out (I’m biased)
And characters I will grow to love…

Guys, This book has almost all of those things.
We meet Allii, and the people of Sallonia. Her Father, the king, and her Stepmother (which I find refreshing what a great bond she shares with Allil and not the usual “evil stepmother” trope so common out there) are so supportive of each other, and it sets the mood perfectly… It’s easy to believe that Allil will go to any lengths necessary to achieve justice for the person who was there for her…

I loved how we get a different perspective.. not just the usual Villain-Hero but of everyone involved; it shows the reader a broader scenario and lets us know things are not as easy to fix as we might want them to be because nothing is so clean cut.
Allii was a great character despite being so young and impulsive at times ( I tend to find that a bit annoying, but I understood it in her case) She grows a lot in a short time of sorts. She needs to look out not only for herself and her quest to find justice but also for the people who are being wronged by her father’s mistakes.

The pacing of the story was fluid I did get a bit confused at times with how many characters were there, but it takes just a bit of getting used to… Similar to when reading Game of Thrones…

I would sincerely recommend this book if you want to dive into a Fantasy adventure, and with winter around the corner, I think it’s the perfect time to do just that.
