I enjoyed this! The main character is one of those not-squeaky-clean guys who you want to root for, but at the same time, you intellectually know that he is not a nice guy. The middle sagged a little bit for me, but the beginning and end of the book were engaging, and I read through them quickly. It's not a perfect book, but I'm interested in reading the next volume.

Cleave sure likes to end his books abruptly.

I didn't enjoy this one as much i did Blood Men, but it was still quite the roller coaster ride.

I love the character of Theo Tate, even though he is an anti-hero if ever there was one. That's one of the main things I enjoy about Cleave's novels...the fact that all of his characters are pretty damn twisted and no one is ever really innocent or truly heroic in a traditional sense.

A chilling case of unsolved murders and mistaken identities unravels when a lake in a Christchurch cemetery releases its grip on the murky past.

Cemetery Lake begins in a cold and rainy graveyard, where Private Detective Theodore Tate is overseeing an exhumation—a routine job for the weathered former cop. But when doubts are raised about the identity of the body found in the coffin, the case takes a sinister turn.

What an interesting thriller! It’s one of those books where you are reading along, all nice and comfy, thinking ‘this is interesting, all is fine’, then Paul Cleave throws out an unexpected twist and turn that leaves you questioning everything.

If you’re after a thriller that really keeps you on your toes, than Ic annoy recommend this one enough. excited to read the next in the series!

It was awesome!!!!

UNPUTDOWNABLE BOOK!!

TOTALLY RECOMMEND IT TO MYSTERY LOVERS!!!

Even though I completed it in many days, as I wasn't reading in between but this book just didn't let me go, it didn't leave my mind, the way the investigation started, the way things unrolled, the way this book has been written, it was the best experience ever. It still is. Plus the detailing, the plot twists, the doubt, the narration, everything was superb.

My first Paul Cleave novel was The Killing Hour, and I would say that that novel made me kind of a fan of Paul Cleave, and so I got my hands on this dark and suspenseful book. And I am hopeful that I'll be reading more of the Theodore Tate series.

Plus I liked the changing weather of Christchurch, it was really a great experience to be able to imagine such a wonderful city, plus what's a detective novel without rain???? It was the best part for me. Plus I like how Paul Cleave sets his main characters, it's just amazing, you really seem to be there with them and you just become immersed in the story.

Looking forward to reading more of his novels. And my eyes are really aching badly, didn't sleep, need to get some sleep, so I think this concludes the whole situation.
