I have no love for Victoria but it was interesting to see the world though her eyes. Her opinions on women were surprising considering what a competent and powerful figure she was, but she is definitely the product of her time.

It's always interesting to see what people have to say about their own lives. But this is not a sappy memoir, but an actual record. I think Her Majesty and I would have been friends. I read this book in long spurts, which induced several dreams about her. She was my mother-in-law in one of them, and I have rarely been more scared than then.
