“I don't want whatever I want. Nobody does. Not really. What kind of fun would it be if I just got everything I ever wanted just like that, and it didn't mean anything? What then?”

Coraline is a fantastically dark and delightful, fairytale-like book about a young girl that discoveres a secret passage in her new flat to the other-world, where everything seems almost like in her own world, but not quite . Coraline is a curious, intelligent and courageous character and I loved discovering the world through her eyes. Also, I loved the cat. The cat was my favorite.

The book is imaginative and beautifully written and the illustrations by Chris Riddell made the experience even better.

There's not much to say really. I listened to Neil Gaiman read this via audiobook, and as a reread, I enjoyed it more than the first time.

Definitely creepy and uncanny. Definitely worth a read or listen. And I will definitely reread again.

The first of hopefully many times reading this book.

Yes it’s a children’s book but I believe this is a book you can revisit in each step of life.

Coraline shows courage and this story inspires us to fight our fears for those we love.

Thank you Neil Gaiman for creating this timeless story and those incredible characters !

Even more highly rated: the audio book performed by Gaiman. That version gets an extra star or two.

I’ll put myself on blast and admit that I didn’t know this was a book first OR that it was from the mind of Neil Gaiman🙈 but all that said, this was a super entertaining and I liked it more than the movie! It’s eerie and clever with great imagery so if you’re a fan of the movie, or not, I would definitely recommend this one because it really sucks you in.

I love this book, it's chilly vibes are just perfect for this time of season. The imaginary descriptions were just beautiful and the story telling very involving.
