Couldn't stand Chimene in any capacity. The writing was okay, but Chimene.... yeah, wow. No. She undermines everything to the extent that the plot is entirely pointless. It reminded me of 'The Spanish Tragedy' by Kyd, but... second-rate? I don't know, it was obviously not similar in plot, but in the associated aesthetic / setting / feeling.
