It was a long time (and then a very short time) coming. It took me 15 years to revisit my original story, and come to the realization that I wouldn't be content until Cat's story was completed. 11 days later, I finished my first draft.
Not going to lie, I love this book. It's absolutely ridiculous and lighthearted and fun, and it was such a breath of fresh air to write about a nusto 17yo.
Part Tam Lin, part zany high school shenaniganry, this book makes me smile, and I hope readers enjoy it as much as I do :)

Recommended by the great Emma Hamm, this was an obvious choice for my next review! I absolutely love fantasy based on fae mythology, so of course, I had to read this one. And the best thing is, the second book has been published, so you can read this one and immediately dive into what happens next. Full of teenage drama, humor, and romance, there is something in this book for everyone. As a 28-year-old, I can tell you - you don't need to be a teenager to enjoy this YA novel. And for those of you who want to know, this book is a clean romance.
Cat is trying to deal with high school - bullies, teachers who hate her, and grades that could definitely be better. The last thing she needs is another complication, but she has no choice when she finds out that her childhood best friend, Jake, is a fairy prince. And it's not just him - turns out that fairies are everywhere! If that wasn't enough of a shock, he's about to be in big trouble in the fae world, and Cat is the only human who could save him. No pressure! There's just a few problems though - she's caught the attention of a fairy in a rival court, Tobias Monday, both courts are after her in a bad way, and she's grounded. What could go wrong?
Cat was such a fun character for me to read! She was really open, endearing, and said what she thought. No sugarcoating for Cat! It brought me back to my high school days, and I can't even imagine dealing with what she does in this book, particularly the fairy stuff on top of all the everyday high school drama. She handled it with shaky confidence and a smile on her face, and her sidekick friends made the story all the more loveable. Jake was your typical popular boy, not really noticing those outside of his sphere until he needed them. I wasn't a huge fan of his, but I don't think I was supposed to be anyway. Tobias was great - I wanted to keep reading about him. Every time he left the scene, my inner teenager screamed "Come back!" I was so glad to see he would be a recurring character, with a big role in the second book. Everyone loves a bad boy, right?
Highly recommend this series! Perfect read for all ages and it's a lighthearted read for a rainy day. Give it a go.
