The 12 Sleighs of Christmas by Sherri Duskey Rinker

Definitely a holiday title for the most dedicated vehicle fans, this is a rather wordy and technical picture book that would probably do best as a one-on-one or small group read. There are a lot of small text features and picture details that kiddos who love vehicles would like to dig into up-close, and the wording is a bit clunky for a large group read aloud. If you have a Christmas-celebrating motorhead kiddo in your life, this might be a great present!

Thanks to Chronicle Books for this review copy - all opinions are my own.

Super cute! I feel like the ending could use a smidge more, but it's adorable!

Imaginative and fun! A good new Christmas classic for the little ones with really cool illustrations.

Definitely too long for an effective read aloud with my preschoolers (it might work with 1-3rd graders), this book is a lot of fun. The plot is a tiny bit predictable for an adult, but kids who are into vehicles or transportation or Santa's elves will love it! Definitely one that kids could spend hours pouring over the illustrations.

I so need to get myself a copy of this book.  Santa kind of destroyed the sleigh last year.  And now the elves need to fix it.  But instead of fix it, what if they designed a new sleigh? And we the reader get treated to all the various sleighs that might take off.  The rhymes work, but sometimes the cadence is off.  But I didn’t mind.  The story was so fun that the tongue twisting just added to the mayhem.
