Cute, but slight. I was expecting more of an emotional wallop, but Bob just didn't deliver. This is best for younger readers.

This has been my favorite read aloud so far. Would be great to teach perspective, questioning the text, predictions and more. It’s very mysterious and has had the students engaged despite the minimal pictures.

Livy is visiting her grandmother in Australia. It has been 5 years since she last visited, so she can barely remember anything about her last trip. But when she goes into her room, she instinctively opens the closet door...and there is Bob! During her stay with her grandmother, Livy remembers her adventures with Bob the last time she was in Australia and helps him find his home.

I wanted to like this book but think it's just meh.

Livy, now 10, leaves Michigan to visit her grandmother in Australia. The last time she went she was 5 years old. Livy feels her memories coming back to her and something or someone important is in the back of her mind. As she goes upstairs to her mother's old room she sees Bob, a greenish little guy dressed in chicken pajamas.

With the help of Bob, Livy remembers what happened on the her last visit. But what is she supposed to do with these memories?

I don't know what Bob is supposed to be. The book just isn't memorable unlike the cover which keeps making me want to read it. I keep forgetting that I did. Arghhhh!

Endearing middle-grade chapter book focused on a 10 year old Livy and Bob, the mysterious green creature she finds in the guest room closet at her grandmother's house. The chapters alternate between Livy's perspective and Bob's. My 8 year old enjoyed this and was anxious to find out exactly what/who Bob was and where he came from...which is the primary plot line of the book.

This was a pleasantly unique story. Bob and Livy's relationship was sweet and I liked how they worked together. I enjoyed the illustrations and how everything turned out.

Even though this was a quick and easy read, I did find myself, zoning out, a somewhere around the middle. I do still think it was worth the read.

This is a lighthearted story about friendship and coming of age. I thought this was a fun, light, and quick read.
